The market in General
28/08/2005 – The market is dead! Almost
all signs of interest have faded in both trading and indeed in the figures
themselves. After more then 16 years it is time to put the collection to bed.
The brief boosts given by the LOTR films has only prolonged what most of us
knew already. The decision to pull out of trading the figures was taken over a
year ago. We have maintained a stock in the hope that it may lift, but
remaining stocks will be sold via www.ebay.co.uk
over the next few days and with sad hearts this part of the site will be laid
to rest.
05/05/2005 – The market seems to have hit
its low point and has stablized over recent months. Any signs of recovery… unfortunatley
not! The requests to sell still far outweigh the enquiries for purchases and
this is never a good sign.
14/08/2004 – The market continues to
slump. Prices are at an all time low, great for buying, not so good for
selling. At this time we see no signs of a recovery and have to say that the
collection really has had its day. The decision to move the production out of
England and the subsequent decline in quality seems to have removed all but the
most ardent collectors from the market place. We are receiving more requests to
buy collections than we can ever hope to sell. Supply is quite literally
leaving demand for dead.

28/08/2005 – RYKLYN UK Myth & Magic will finally be laid to rest in a couple of weeks.
All remaining stocks are being auctioned via our shop http://stores.ebay.co.uk/RYKLYN-UK-LTD and you are welcome to bid on the pieces there. The sales
E-Mail will remain open and you are also invited to make offers on the
remaining stock. No reasonable offer refused.
It has also come to our notice that
several sites are using information from ours to further their own sales, and
also that one particular collectors guide has several pictures under false
copyrights that were taken directly from this site. It pains us that the
culmination of nearly 11 years of research can be stolen in this way, without
even reference to ourselves. RYKLYN UK
Myth & Magic does not intend
to take action but would welcome at least some reference to OUR work.
The figurine pages have been taken
down as we feel it is no longer relavent to the business.
During its 11 years RYKLYN UK Myth & Magic has found for our customers 127 pieces, has bought
and sold 1532 more, has found 41 new unknown moulds some dating from the very
first releases in 1989, help over 700 people with enquiries about the
collection and its pieces and had 186 people on our active customer list.
Whilst it is sad that the collection
does seem to have outlived itself we would like to thank the Tudor Mint, the
designers and sculpters, and everyone concerned for making the last 11 years
possible. We have certainly enjoyed it and hope you have too.
The other parts of the business will
be continued and new flashes will appear on their own pages.
05/05/2005 – RYKLYN UK Myth & Magic is still alive just. Much of the stock is sold but
plenty still remains. Time to snap up some bargains. We still receive offers to
buy stock in. This cannot be accomodated and certainly not at the prices being
asked for. Please note that this side of the business is closing because the
prices are so poor.
RYKLYN UK Jewellery has really taken off with a bang. Some problems exist
with the E-Mail system but this is largely operational now. We are receiving
orders now virtually daily so please be patient. Also bear in mind that this is
a bespoke service, made to order, and can take up to 6 weeks to arrive.
Sometimes the finer things in life ARE worth the wait. Our thanks to all who
have ordered to date. We hope to place your comments on the site soon. Very
encouraging.
RYKLYN UK Collectable Currency goes from strength to strength and we haven’t even
got the site up yet. With enquiries coming via the Myth and Magic E-Mail System.
Site is due shortly and will open with a 1951 £5 VF note, many Unc £1 notes and
an almost complete shilling collection from 1797.
RYKLYN UK Multimedia has finished the feasibility study and work has
commenced on this site also.
RYKLYN UK Gemstones Direct is up and running but only via E-Bay at present and
with limited stocks.
14/08/2004 – RYKLYN UK Myth & Magic will have been trading for 10 years on 1st
October. We have had good years and we have had bad ones. We have enjoyed every
minute of supplying you with much wanted figures and in some cases have made
significant contributions to some collections out there. We thank all our
customers for this time. Given the complete and utter depression in the market
of late (see above), we have had to rethink our strategy. Several ideas were
thrown around about how to continue this much loved area of our business, but
to no avail.
As the other areas of our business
continue to climb, the decision was finally taken to remove RYKLYN UK Myth & Magic from our list of companies. The remaining stock will
remain trading, but no new pieces can now be purchased.
RYKLYN UK Jewellery has made some startling new advances. Irina has
brought a new supplier into the company and we are very pleased to bring a whole
new range of top quality Jewellery at rock bottom prices. This is the result of
over six months work. This really is excellent Jewellery and we are very
excited by the initial responses. A whole new website is being designed and
will shortly be available to you.
RYKLYN UK Collectable Currency has also begun well, with several major suppliers
pledging interest in doing business with us. We are building stock levels daily
to give you some real choice when we commence trading (Expected 1st
October).
RYKLYN UK Multimedia is a new idea that will provide a source of older
collectable videos, PC games and Music CD’s. This is currently undergoing
research into its viability.
RYKLYN UK Gemstones Direct is almost ready for launch also. This will supply mid
quality Gems at unbeatable prices. We can supply almost any stone in any
quantity.
As one door closes a whole lot of
new ones open. Keep your eyes peeled for some wonderful new lines some of them
really should not be missed!!!
27/05/2004 – RYKLYN UK is pleased to announce the opening of our new E-Bay Store. This can be

All are invited to browse and perhaps even buy
a study or two. We have also extended our sale until 31st JULY 2004
and added some new bargains. We are currently extending our range of Jewellery
and will shortly be able to offer a wholesale service for the finest Gemstones.
We plan shortly to offer a range of coins and notes of collector quality… keep
a look out for this, there are some truly fantastic specimen pieces. Some items
will only be available in the E-Bay store, other will be included in the site.

14/03/2004 – RYKLYN UK now has a new permanent partner. We are delighted to welcome Irina and hope
that, with her appointment, previous stability can now be maintained. We are
aware that there have been a number of times when we have had to suspend
trading and recognize that this is not good for us or for you. RYKLYN UK is also shortly to become RYKLYN UK GROUP LTD with many new
lines and a whole new web site. Look out for many new features. In view of the
fact that our trading ended so abruptly last time and during the sale, we have decided
to extend this until 30th
June 2004 to give everyone a chance. We are
back and this time we are staying back!
